Bible Study
Due to unforeseen circumstances the Bible Study house group will not
meet until 9th June. Apologies to all who regularly attend.
A Note from Barbara Brooks
I wish to thank everyone sincerely for the very generous "leaving" gift which I was given on 10th May. It will pay for
useful shelving in the storage cupboard of my little retirement flat in Shanklin. Not being too far away, I shall no doubt
be seeing some of you, from time to time, but thank you very much for your kindness and good wishes. Barbara.
St Helen's & St. Peter's Choir
Due to health reasons our choir director Mel has resigned. This means that we are advertising for a new choir director.
If you know of any one that might be interested in taking this on, please let Rob or John know. We would also welcome
new members to the choir, especially altos, tenors and basses. It would be helpful if you could read music but not essential.
Street Pastors
The Isle of Wight Street Pastors are holding an informal evening on Tuesday 2nd June at Castlehold Baptist Church, Newport
[transport available]. If you would like to find out more, please phone Caroline.
Cakes needed for St. Helen's stall!
Calling all bakers!!! Is there anyone who would be willing to bake a cake or two for the St. Helens Fayre on the green
in June? Cakes can be brought on the day, or can be collected on 27th. Any offers of help would be gratefully received! Rose Gillett.
Bottles urgently needed for St. Helen's bottle stall
Every year we hold a bottle stall at the St. Helens Fayre on the green to raise funds for St Helen's Church. If you would be
willing to contribute a bottle or two we would be most grateful. Wine to champagne; ketchup to shampoo; if it is unused, in date, and in a bottle
we can use it to raise funds for the Church restoration project. Any donations can be left at the back of St. Helen's church
or can be collected if you contact Rose Gillett or John Kerslake. With many thanks in anticipation.!
Organ recital. Music for a summer evening
Luke Hayden [former assistant organist at our Churches] will be giving a recital in St. Helen's Church on Saturday 20th June
beginning at 7.00pm. Refreshments available during the interval. There will be a raffle [prizes gratefully received]. No entrance
fee but there will be a retiring collection for St. Helen's Church Restoration Appeal.
