Extra Services in August
There will be an additional service at St Peter's Church on 27th August at 10.00am. This will be all-age non-Eucharistic services suitable for all the family from 1 -100 years. Everyone is invited and will be very welcome.

Sunday 27th August
As this will be Rob and Anthea's last service with us it is hoped that as many as possible from both churches will be able to attend. In order to help facilitate this there will just be one service of communion on that day - 10.00am sung Eucharist at St Helen's. There will be coffee and cake after the service.

Ride & Stride Saturday 9th September
This annual event will be held again this year on Saturday 9th September. Both St Helens and Seaview churches have large building projects in progress and will be applying for grants to the Historic Churches Trust which this event supports. In addition the church gets to keep 50% of any money raised. Sally Rivlin is the organiser for St Helen's and Sylvia Beardsmore for St Peter's and they will be able to give you more information.
However we will need : Volunteers to help with refreshments at both churches and volunteers to run, ride, stride or drive round the various churches in the deanery.
HOW MANY CHURCHES COULD YOU VISIT IN THE DAY
See Sally or Sylvia for sponsorship forms. It really can be a fun day.

Funtastic Fete
Now that all the money is in, and all expenses paid, the profit made is £3212.58. A breakdown can be seen on the church notice board at the back of the church. Thank you to everyone who helped in any way. There will be a de-brief meeting on Monday 4th September at 7.00pm in St Peter's hall. Do come if you can.

Church Opening
Now that September is almost here we will need to get into a routine of opening and closing St Peter's Church. Hours of opening are 9.00am - 5.00pm [4.00pm in the winter months]. There is a list in the church porch and you can sign up for a week at a time.

St Peter's Porch Cleaning
We are looking for someone to take on responsibility for cleaning the porch at St Peter's. In the windy season this may be necessary more than once a week and the windows etc need to be kept cobweb free. If it is something you think you could do, please contact Sylvia.

Rob's Leaving Lunch
A big thank you to all of you who supported the event and especially to Rosemary and her team who produced an excellent lunch. Hardly a buffet!! To all who contributed to Rob and Anthea's leaving present, thank you, we were able to give them a cheque for £500.00.

Church Cleaners
A big thank you to all who have helped to keep St Peter's church clean during the recent building work. The high levels of dust have made this difficult but your extra hard work has been really appreciated.

Bereavement Support Group
This informal and relaxed group meets on the first Friday monthly. The next one will be on 1st September at 2.00pm in St Peter's Hall. Everyone is invited however recent or long ago your bereavement. Come and be listened to.
