Church Opening
Now that September is here we will need to get into a routine of opening and closing St Peter's Church. Hours of opening are 9.00am - 5.00pm [4.00pm in the winter months]. There is a list in the church porch and you can sign up for a week at a time.

St Peter's Porch Cleaning
We are looking for someone to take on responsibility for cleaning the porch at St Peter's. In the windy season this may be necessary more than once a week and the windows etc need to be kept cobweb free. If it is something you think you could do, please contact Sylvia.

Care Home Friends
There is a great need for volunteers to visit residents of care homes in the area. Each of our churches is going to "adopt" a care home and train volunteers to visit a specific person on a regular basis. An initial training session will take place on Friday afternoon, 15th September in St Peter's hall for anyone who would like to find out more. Interested? Please contact Caroline or take a look at the web site www.embracingage.org.uk.

IOW Street Pastors
Now recruiting for volunteers. To find out more about this important ministry in local schools and towns, please take a look at the website www.iowstreetpaastors.org.uk or speak to one of our school/street/prayer pastors. There is a particular need for prayer pastors to support our teams, in schools at lunchtime, once a week, or once a month at the church base from which our teams go out late at night. Great if you are awake in the wee small hours!!!!!!!!!

St Helen's Fish & Chips Supper and Concert
This will be on Saturday 23rd September at 6.00pm. Tickets for the supper are now available from
Paul & Mary and Caroline at £5.50 for fish & chips, or £4.00 for 1 large sausage and chips. Tea/coffee/& juice are included in the price. If you would just like to come to the concert, entertainment by Jazz Tones, this begins at 7.15pm and does not need a ticket. There will be a retiring collection for Church funds.

Songs of Praise
On Sunday 24th September at Cowes Enterprise College at 4.00pm. This is part of the Isle of Wight celebrations for 2017. Tickets are available on line only at isleofwightday.com/songs-of-praise price £2.50 each. There will be a retiring collection in aid of the Isle of Wight day fund, which benefits local charities.

Mothers' Union
Due to unforeseen circumstances the next meeting of the Mothers' Union on Tuesday Sept. 20th will be held in St Peter's Church and NOT the Church Hall. The subject of the meeting will be Harvest Festival and members are requested to bring non-perishable goods to be donated to the food bank. Otherwise the contents of the meeting are the same with refreshments being served and a raffle. After the summer break we look forward to seeing you there.

Ride & Stride
Thank you to everyone who participated in this event. We visited 33 churches and raised £150.00. Half of this amount will be sent back to the church for the fabric fund. Thank you too to those who acted as welcomers and provided refreshments for the seven people who visited our church.

St Peter's Harvest Festival
St Peter's Harvest Lunch will be held on Sunday 1st October. Gifts of non-perishable foods will be received at the beginning of the service and blessed. There will be a harvest lunch at 12.00noon. Tickets are available from Sylvia and donations will be received following the meal. An in-house entertainment will follow the meal, so please come prepared with your contribution.
