Welcome to our Benefice service to celebrate The Patronal Festival at St Peter’s at 10.00am today (Sunday 30th June). Do stay and join us for a Bring-your-own Picnic lunch in the church garden. Teas and coffees will be supplied.

On Saturday July 6th there is an open Cafe in St Mary’s Church Hall, starting at 10.30am. There will be the usual stalls (puzzles, bric-a-brac, preserves, cakes) and the Brading Community Choir will be singing so come along for coffee and a chat, cake and a sing-a-long.

On Saturday July 13th there is a Jumble sale in St Mary’s Church Hall, Brading. Doors open at 2.00pm, and the jumble will be accepted from 11:00am. There will also be tea / coffee and cakes. Helpers welcome. Do come and support us and grab an ethical bargain!

Thank you to all who came to paint, draw or photograph Yaverland Manor. All finished work will be displayed in St John’s church on 14th - 15th September and judged by the PCC and Manor owners. The winning picture will be given to Yaverland Manor and all other entries sold to raise funds for the disabled toilet and access ramp.

A BIG thank you from Rose to everyone who contributed bottles for the Bottle Tombola at St Helens Village Fair. £284 was raised for the Kids Shed Appeal. Also to everyone who supported the book stall which raised £126 towards the restoration of three old pew cushions. The tapestries were on display and generated a lot of interest and some generous donations. Mary would like to thank everyone for their encouragement to her in this work.

St Peter's PCC would like to thank everyone who supported the Midsummer Tea Party last Sunday in Seaview which raised £150 towards the church fabric fund. It was a very happy community occasion. Special thanks to Debs von Eldik for the idea, The Quirky Teapot for their delicious afternoon teas and all our volunteers - you know who you are!

Thanks all for the help and support for making the hustings meeting at St Mary's a success.

Advance notice: 11.15am on Sunday 14th July. Come and sing some favourite hymns with us in Seaview for Music Sunday, an initiative of the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM). 50% of the collection will be donated to charity RSCM towards the continuation of church music.

A note from Margaret: Thank you all very much for the wonderful flowers that you sent me, they are beautiful. I’m still very sore but I’m moving around a bit more each day. Hopefully I’ll soon start to feel like my old self. Best wishes, Margaret Downer.

Date for your diary: Rev Bevaly will be ordained as a Priest (rather than a Deacon) on Saturday 28th Sept in Portsmouth Cathedral at 11.00am. All are welcome.
