Together in Prayer meets on Zoom each Thursday from 6.30pm for half an hour. See Rev Bevaly for details to join or prayer requests.

Worship at St Catherine’s chapel is taking a break over the summer but we look forward to welcoming you all back in September.

There will be a special evening of music at St Helen's Church on Thursday 8th August when PHANTASIA return with a new programme. Specialising in music from the 17th-19th centuries, played on period instruments, as a special treat they are teaming up with soprano Angela Hicks, a star of the early music world. Do come and be entertained: the concert starts at 7.00pm and entry is by donation on the door. There will also be a raffle (please give donations to Rose). Profits will go to church funds.

The Seaview church and community fete is on Saturday 10th August on the Seaview football field. The Mothers’ Union will be running its tombola stall and needs bottles and other suitable prizes. Good quality bric-a-brac is also wanted for the very popular white elephant stall. Items can be left in the church porch.

Come and help us make a scarecrow for the Brading Town Scarecrow competition on Monday 12th August at 1.00pm in St Mary’s church, Brading. Families welcome. Donations of newspaper or straw to stuff him also appreciated.

A reminder that the paintings, drawings and photographs of Yaverland Manor will be displayed in St John’s church on 14th - 15th September and will judged by the PCC and Manor owners. The winning picture will be given to Yaverland Manor and all other entries sold to raise funds for the disabled toilet and access ramp.

Thank you to everyone who supported St Mary’s by coming along for a cream tea last week. It was a splendid afternoon and we raised around £500.

St Peter’s PCC Minutes are pinned up on the noticeboard after each meeting which you are welcome to read and find out what they are doing for the church and community.

Are you feeling called to be a Lay Worship Leader or Lay Preacher? Six session courses are running on the Island on Saturday’s during Sept - Nov led by Anthony Rustell, Leisa Potter and Peter Byatt. Please contact Rev Bevaly ASAP for further details and to enrol.

Copies of the August issue of our parish magazine, 'What's On', are available from the back of church, price 60p. If you don't already subscribe, do take a copy - and do also think about taking out a subscription. For just £6.00 your copy will be delivered to your door each month.

Incumbent: You will all be thrilled to know that an appointment has been made subject to DBS check and final references. Do please pray for the new incumbent (who will be named soon!) as preparations are made. These things take time so do please be patient. Many thanks to our reps for all their time and commitment.
