Worship at St Catherine’s chapel is taking a break over the summer but we look forward to welcoming you all back in September.

The annual Regatta service at St Peter’s takes place on Sunday 18th August at 10.00am, along with the Events choir, the service will be led by Revd’s David Low and Vicki Morgan. All are welcome.

On Sunday August 25th St Peter’s are having their popular Songs of Praise service at 11.15am. Join us for a sing-a-long style worship.

A Late Summer Concert by Abbey Brass featuring music from the movies, musicals, pop and classics will be held at St Mary’s Church, Brading, on Saturday September 7th at 7.30pm. Entry is free with a retiring collection to be split between the church and the band.

A reminder that the paintings, drawings and photographs of Yaverland Manor will be displayed in St John’s church on 14th - 15th September and will judged by the PCC and Manor owners. The winning picture will be given to Yaverland Manor and all other entries sold to raise funds for the disabled toilet and access ramp.

From September St Mary’s, Brading will be returning to weekly services. Weeks 1 and 3 will continue to be Sung Eucharist (with Holy Communion) and weeks 2 and 4 will be a Service of the Word (without Holy Communion), led by our Lay Worship Leaders all at 9.30am. Please do support us in this (and there will still be time to get to a service of Holy Communion if you wish). However, we NEED someone to offer to do refreshments after the services on weeks 2 and 4, otherwise we will not be able to offer them, see Marilyn or Rev Bevaly to offer.

Do you feel called to be a Lay Worship Leader or Lay Preacher? Six session courses are running on the Island on Saturday’s during Sept - Nov. Please contact Rev Bevaly ASAP for further details and to enrol.

The August issue of our parish magazine, 'What's On', are available from the back of church, just 60p.

You will all be delighted to know that Rev Karen Wilson has been appointed as our new incumbent (subject to DBS) and we are hoping that she will be licensed on Tuesday 12th November at 6.00pm in St Mary’s church, Brading. You can read more about her here. Please pray for her and her husband Chris as they prepare to move to the IOW.
