A very warm welcome to the family and friends of Lynne Ferguson who have come to witness and rejoice with us at her baptism at St Mary’s this morning (Sunday 1st September).

You are warmly invited to a service of Holy Communion in St Catherine's Chapel (St Helens Community Centre) at 6.00pm this evening (Sunday 1st September). The Revd Canon Hugh Wright will celebrate and preach, and there will be refreshments afterwards.

A Late Summer Concert by Abbey Brass featuring music from the movies, musicals, pop and classics will be held at St Mary’s Church, Brading, on Saturday 7th September at 7.30pm. Entry is free with a retiring collection to be split between the church and the band.

The opportunity to view the entries in the Yaverland Manor art competition in St John's Church will now be in October and not on 14th & 15th September as previously advertised.

From NEXT WEEK (Sunday 8th September) St Mary’s, Brading will be returning to weekly services. Weeks 1 and 3 will continue to be Sung Eucharist (with Holy Communion) and weeks 2 and 4 will be a Service of the Word (without Holy Communion), led by our Lay Worship Leaders all at 9.30am. Please do support us in this (and there will still be time to get to a service of Holy Communion if you wish). Thank you to those who offered to do Refreshments afterwards.

There will be a service of Sung Evensong at St John’s Yaverland on Sunday 22nd September at 5.30pm (NB new time), led by Andrew Cooper and choir. All are very welcome to this beautiful service in a beautiful church.

Sunday 29th September will be a Benefice Service (meaning all four churches meeting together) at St Mary’s Brading at 10.00am. This will be the first service at which Bevaly will preside following her ordination as Priest the previous day. Please do come along to support her and to worship together.

St Peter’s are holding their harvest lunch on 6th October at 12.30pm for 1.00pm. Admission £10, please book in advance with Suki Turner on 07940 503971. This is a very popular event so first come first served.

Please pray for Rev Karen Wilson who has been appointed as our new Priest in Charge (subject to DBS). She will be licensed on Tuesday 12th November at 6.00pm in St Mary’s church, Brading. You can read more about her here.
