You will be very welcome at St Helen's Eco Church this Sunday afternoon, 24th November, when we shall be making Christmas decorations. As usual we shall open with a short time of worship and end with a shared supper. Join us in the church at 3.30 pm.
Our Advent Study course will run on Tuesdays, 26th November, 3rd, 10th and 17th December from 2.30pm – 4.00pm in St Mary’s Church Hall. We are studying ‘The Meaning Is In The Waiting’ by Paula Gooder. All are welcome.
Seaview and St Helens Mothers Union are meeting on 26th November at 2.15pm in the Undercroft, when members will be entertained by Southern Bells.
St John’s Artisan Christmas Craft Fayre is from 10.00am to 3.00pm on Sunday 1st December. There will also be soup, tea, coffee and cakes available throughout the day, all to raise money towards the new Disabled Toilet.
A warm welcome awaits you at the Advent Carol Service, in St Catherine's Chapel (part of the St Helens Community Centre in Upper Green Road) on Sunday, 1st December, at 6.00pm. This will be led by Andrew and last for about 45 minutes, with mince pies and mulled wine to follow.
St Peter’s, Seaview also warmly welcome you to a Candlelit Advent Carol Service at 6.00pm on Sunday 1st December. (If you can donate mince pies or a string of Christmas lights for the occasion please see a member of the PCC or leave them at the back of church – thanks, Sally.)
Original Christmas cards by Liz Fletcher are available in St Peter's church. Very reasonably priced - sold in packs or individually.
Brading Church fundraising group are looking for items to create two luxury hampers for Christmas raffles. Please see Nigel, Rev Bev or Catherine if you have any suitable donations.
St Mary’s, Brading are holding their Christmas Tree Festival on 6th- 8th December in the church. The Festival will include a Christmas Concert, with mulled wine and mince pies on Friday 6th at 7.00pm in the church; a Craft Sale in the church and Coffee Morning in the hall with music from Mike on Saturday 7th from 10.00am; and the Light Up a Life Service to remember loved ones in aid of the Hospice at 3.00pm on Sunday 8th followed by the Community Nativity from the church hall around Brading to the Methodist Church. Please come and join the fun and celebrations and do get in touch if your organisation would like to display a tree at the Festival.
Clare from Carisbrooke Flowers invites you to a Christmas Fresh flower/foliage Workshop on Monday 16th December from 2.00-4.00pm in St Peter’s Undercroft, Seaview. £20 per person. Bring your own decorations and foliage to accompany the greenery and materials provided. To book email Sally – sally(dot)rivlin(at)gmail(dot)com. Profits to St Peter’s building fund.
The November coffee morning at St Peter’s raised £226. Thank you to everyone who supported this event in any way.
