If you are feeling called to Lay Ministry please speak to Revd Karen as the Diocese is running a new 10 session course for Lay Leaders in the Autumn.

If you can offer to help with making teas / Coffees, opening and locking churches, cleaning, reading the lesson, leading intercessions or social and fundraising events do see Rev Karen or your churchwarden for more information as volunteers are most welcome.

Following over 70 years of dedicated service, our organist, John Cheverton, has announced his retirement. To honour his extraordinary ministry, a benefice service of thanksgiving will take place on Sunday, October 4th at 10:00am in St Peter’s Church. John has selected the annual Harvest Service as his final Sunday as organist. Given the large congregation expected for this special occasion, a traditional Harvest Lunch will not be logistically feasible. Instead, everyone is warmly invited to remain after the service to enjoy a celebratory toast in John’s honour.
Retirement Gift Donations: If you would like to contribute toward a gift for John, please contact Gilly Meadows (St. Peter's).
Harvest Offerings: All donated dry goods and toiletries (in date please!) brought to the Harvest Service will be directed to the local FoodBank.

Do come along to the next St Mary’s Coffee Morning in the church hall on Saturday 10th October from 10.00am – 12.00noon, in aid of church funds and the charity Ability Dogs for Young People. There will be refreshments, cakes and stalls including Farmer Ralph.

St Helen’s Church is also holding a Coffee Morning on Saturday 10th October from 10.00am - 12.00 noon at the Community Centre, St Helens.

On Saturday 24th October there will be an organ recital given by Andrew Cooper in St Helen’s church. Beginning at 3.00pm this will last for about an hour, and will be followed by tea and cakes.Retiring collection for church funds.

As the What's On magazine has a 500-word limit per article, I will now be expanding on some of the articles through a monthly blog on our website. Published at the end of each month, this platform offers a fuller space to share news, reflections, and updates from across the benefice. You are warmly invited to click here to read my latest post. Revd Karen.

Our curate, Revd Bevaly is going on a placement with the Ryde Churches from October 2026 – end of January 2027 as part of her ongoing training. Do please continue to pray for her and her ministry and we look forward to welcoming her back next year.
