" Advent" Let us reflect on our journey through Advent,
that the season may not be obscured by the commercial emphasis on
Christmas. As we make our practical preparations, let us keep
              sight of the spiritual.

St. Peter's & St. Helen's Church Cleaners
We would be grateful if more people could kindly help with the
cleaning at St Peter's Church. If anyone can spare an hour or so
each month for dusting and sweeping, please contact Joan Ricketts.
St. Helen's Church also needs cleaners. Please contact Barbara.
St. Peter's Church Garden
A special thank you to Mike and his team for their hard work in
the church garden again at the beginning of this month. Those
observant ones among you will have noticed the gaps in the rose
garden. Regretfully some of the roses have succumbed to honey
fungus and needed to be removed. It is hoped that by doing so the
reminder of the roses can be saved. Please bear with us during
this time when the contaminated soil cannot be used.
Winter & Children's Church at St Helen's
Though our tent has been a wonderful asset for our
children in the summer - we need a warm and less blustery place
for them in winter. So, we shall be adapting the gallery at St.
Helen's to form an 'upper room' for Children's Church to use. We
would be very grateful for donations of bean bags / scatter
cushions or carpeting to help furnish this area. Many thanks, Rob.

Christian Aid
Shock horror!!! Advent is fast approaching once more and
this should be a time of spiritual preparation. However the
busyness of the season sometimes makes this difficult. In order to
help us, Christian Aid have produced a small booklet entitled "My
Advent Journey" designed to give a moment of calm and reflection
in our busy lives. These will be available in the back of both St.
Helen's and St. Peter's from 23rd November, and St. Catherine's on
26th November. Please feel free to take a copy for your own
              personal devotions.
