Would you like to regularly pray for the world, the church and each other? Together in Prayer meets on Zoom each Thursday from 6.30pm for half an hour. See Rev Bevaly for details to join or to leave prayer requests.
You are warmly invited to our grand InfoPoint Launch (the first in an Island Church) on Saturday October 12th from 12.30pm in St. Mary-the-Virgin Church, Brading. Come along for fizz, canapés, coffee and a chance to try out our new, interactive tour, learning all about the church, its history and its people accessible through your (or a friend’s) smart phone.
This Sunday (October 13th) at 11.15am at St Peter’s, we have a Pet service led by Reader Caroline Baker. All humans and their pets welcome. If you would like to remember a deceased pet please bring along a photo.
St Peter’s Harvest Praise Service is on Wednesday 16th October at 10.30am. Come and sing-a-long, share your favourite Harvest or Autumn Poem plus have fun making an easy Harvest Craft. All are welcome. (This is a Dementia Friendly Service.)
You can view the Yaverland Manor art exhibition at St John’s Church, Yaverland on the 19th and 20th October. The winning entry will be displayed at the Manor and all other entries will be sold to raise funds for the disabled toilet and access ramp.
Congratulations to Helen Bradstock for receiving a ‘Highly Commended’ certificate in the ‘Green Champion’ category of the ‘Church Times’ 2024 Green Church awards for her work in setting up the Community Fridge in St Helens (which still has food available every day).
The Surplus Food Project, is coming to the Brading Youth and Community Centre every Monday from 14th October between 1.15 and 1.45pm. Food can be had for a donation and is surplus from supermarkets, but still good to eat. Spread the word!
St Peter’s would like to thank everyone, who joined in our harvest celebrations - the beautiful flowers in church, harvest lunch team and all the food donated to The Food Bank. A very happy occasion.
Rev Karen Wilson our new Priest in Charge will be licensed on Tuesday 12th November at 6.00pm in St Mary’s church, Brading (followed by refreshments in the Hall). Please pray for her and her husband Chris. You can read more about her here.
Before the service we are in need of volunteers to help clean the church on Saturday 9th November from 9.30am -12.30pm (just turn up and bring a duster!) and also people to help set up the hall and the buffet from 4.30pm on 12th (before the service). Please give your names to your church warden to pass to St Mary’s social committee (via Nigel) if you can help. Thank you.
