It is with sadness that I announce that Greville Sockett died on Monday 7th December. Greville was a friend to many and a loving servant of the Lord. He devotedly led our Matins service at St Peter’s church. May he rest in peace, rise in glory and perpetual light shine upon him. Details of the funeral service will be released when I have them. Revd Karen.

The Light Up a Life Service to remember loved ones in aid of Mountbatten, is today (14th December) at St Catherine’s church at 3.00pm. All are welcome

The Brading Community Nativity starts at Brading Methodist Church this afternoon (14th December at 4.00pm. Walk around the town (hopefully accompanied by Gary the Donkey) discovering the Christmas story as we search for Mary, Joseph and the baby, finishing at St Mary’s church with candlelit carols and refreshments. (If wet we will do more indoors and less outside!)

Come and hear the Christmas story through readings and song at our Nine Lessons and Carols Service at St Peter’s church this evening (14th December) at 6.00pm.

You will be most welcome to our Carols by Candlelight Service at St Helen’s Church on Wednesday 17th December starting at 6.00pm.

The December/January issue of our benefice magazine, 'What's On', is now available from the back of each church, price 60p.

Responding to God's Love. We conclude our Advent Reflections on Friday 19th December in St Mary's Church Hall, Brading, at 6.00pm. Booklets are still available from each Church (at a cost of £1,00 each) for use at home or in the group session. All are welcome and refreshments are provided (mulled wine and mince pies are promised.

Join us for Choral Evensong at St John's, Yaverland on Sunday 21st December starting at 5.30pm. A beautiful service in a beautiful church at a beautiful time of the year.
