An unusual garment made from 700 hand-sewn patches, including one from St Helen’s Eco Church, is coming to the Island tomorrow (9th February), and to the benefice the following weekend. The Coat of Hopes (www.coatofhopes.uk), created in 2021 to ‘carry people’s hopes for the future of the planet’ to the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, then toured the mainland, inviting all who encounter it to wear it. Do come and see it – it will be walked from Ryde to St Helens on Saturday 14th and be in the village on Sunday15th. More info from Helen or Andrew Bradstock.
