St Mary’s are holding a Fun Quiz Night this Friday (12th June) in the church hall. Everyone is welcome (come as a team or join one on the night). It starts at 7.00pm and is a ‘bargain price’ of just £5 per person. Bring your own nibbles, tea and coffee will be available. There will also be a raffle and a prize for the winning team.

The next event at St Mary’s Church is a Coffee Morning with the Brading Community Choir, Farmer Ralph, cakes, cream teas, stalls and a raffle on Saturday 11th July from 10.00am in the hall. This is raising money for the Daisy Bus as well as the church.

St Helen’s Church BBQ and Teddy Bear Hunt. Saturday 11th July from 12.30pm. Book a place with Sarah [07546 735640] or Sue [01983 568761]. £10 per ticket to include sausage, burger, bun and salad, served with a soft drink. £5 for children and a family ticket for four people is £30. To be held in the churchyard if the weather is good. Inside the church if it is raining.

Choral Evensong at St. John's, Yaverland is on 21st June starting at 5.30pm. The readings and music will reflect the patronal festival of St John the Baptist so do join us. Thanks to the generosity of the Ousely Trust, choral evensong at St John's is now supported by choir hymn books with the full musical notation. These help to take what is already a beautiful service to another level. We are very grateful for the opportunity that the Ousely Trust has provided us.

The June copy of What's On is now available. Why not take out a subscription for just £6 per year? Email subscriptions(at)whatsonmagazine(dot)org to find out more. We are always looking for volunteers to help run the magazine. If you have an eye for admin, would like to become a distributor, or perhaps you have an idea for a regular feature. Email editor(at)whatsonmagazine(dot)org we would love to hear from you!

The Brading Bellringers raised £70 at their Teddy Bear Zip Wire and Parachute Jump and would like to thank everyone who supported them.

Alex, Allie and Rosie would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that made Rosie’s Christening a huge success last weekend. From Karen and Sue conducting the service, to Andrew Cooper’s excellent organ playing and the beautiful singing from the choir, and to everyone that helped serve cake, wash up and hold the baby. It was a privilege to share the day with you all.
