Licensing of the Revd Karen Wilson
St Mary’s, Brading was full to capacity on the evening of Tuesday, 12th November 2024 for the licensing by Bishop Jonathan of Revd Karen Wilson as our Priest-in-Charge.
Karen chose the hymns, the Events Choir sang John Rutter’s anthem For the beauty of the earth’ and the Bishop preached a wonderfully inspiring sermon.
Karen and her husband, Chris, were welcomed by the four PCCs, representatives from each community and clergy colleagues. The evening then concluded with a delicious buffet in St Mary's Church Hall.
Later that evening Karen posted the following message on the Benefice Facebook Page:
"What a spirit filled evening!
It is a pleasure and a privilege to be your Priest.
Bishop Jonathan’s sermon was fabulous; may we all reflect the love of Christ on our new journey together.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a warm welcome and the amazing buffet afterwards!
So much hard work had gone into this evening, it is very much appreciated.
My heart is full and I am so pleased to be with you."
