Do stay for Harvest lunch at St Peter’s after today’s service (21st September) at 12.30pm. £10 payable at the door. Good harvest food & apple crumble!
Wednesday 24th Sept at 2.00pm in St Catherine’s Chapel: Ministry Team/CW meeting to finalize Worship Rotas.
On Saturday 27th September Vectis Brass are in concert at St Mary's starting at 7.30pm, refreshments and raffle during the interval and retiring collection in aid of Bell Restoration Appeal.
Church Volunteers, however you give your time, Rev Karen warmly invites you to a ‘Thank You’ on Saturday 4th October at 10.00am in St Mary’s Church Hall, Brading. There will be tea, coffee and cake.
Now that St Helen’s and St Peter’s are having alternate Sunday Services a joint choir is looking to be formed. If anyone would like to join the choir, who will sing during services at each church, please contact Suki Turner Suki(dot)turner(at)icloud(dot)com or Rev Karen.
The next Coffee Morning at St Mary’s is on Saturday 11th October in aid of church funds and the charity Ability Dogs for Children. There will be refreshments, cakes and stalls from the community, including Farmer Ralph.
Do join us for Eco Church next Sunday at 3.30pm in St Helen's church. Revd Karen will lead the service, and then (weather permitting!) we shall rake up the long grass in the churchyard after its end-of-season cut. Please bring your own rake if you have one - we'll have a few spares. Those not able to rake can keep the rest of us company and enjoy the churchyard. We'll follow this with a shared supper.
There will be a service of Compline (Night Prayer) to mark the end of Creationtide and the feast day of St Francis of Assisi at 6.00pm on Saturday 4th October at St Helen's Church. This will be a peaceful and prayerful service; all are welcome
Christmas alert!!! We are looking for a donkey with ideas of being a Thespian! St Peter’s is having a ‘Live’ nativity on 20th December and would like a donkey to play the part of… ’the donkey’! If anyone has a donkey or knows someone who does and they are free on 20th please let Rev Karen know.
St Peter’s ‘Live’ Nativity - We are also looking for actors who can play the parts of The Inn Keeper and his wife, Three Wise Men and two Shepherds. No lines to learn, script is provided and does not have to be learned by heart. Please contact Revd Karen.
Harvest Festival is being celebrated both this week and next. All goods will be donated to Foodbank charities, so thank you for your generous donations.
Please note: From October the main Sunday Service at St Peter’s will return to a 10 O’clock start. Please reset your watches!
