The next Jumble Sale at St Mary’s Church Hall is on Saturday 15th November from 2.00pm. Jumble can be dropped off from 11.00am. There will be refreshments and a raffle. Any help on the day would be appreciated – please let Nigel or Lynne know.

Brading Bell Ringers Quiz Night: 6:30pm on Saturday 15th November in St Mary’s Church Hall. £5 per person, tea / coffee and a raffle.

Every Thursday morning a group of volunteers meets to meets to rake, coppice and undertake general tasks in the St Helen's Churchyard (which also serves the villages of Nettlestone and Seaview). It would be great to have someone there at each session to welcome them and organise the (much valued!) half-time refreshments in the church. Would you be able to join the rota for this? If so, please contact Andrew – andrewbradstock(at)gmail(dot)com / 07503 200630.

You are very welcome at the next meeting of St Helen's Eco Church, which will be next Sunday, 23rd November. We'll meet in the church for worship at 3.30pm, end with a shared meal, and in between make some decorations, using natural materials, for this year's Christmas tree. As in previous years, this will be displayed at the St Mary's Christmas Tree Festival (also mentioned on this sheet).

The November issue of our parish magazine, 'What's On', is now available, price 60p. You will find copies at the back of the church or sign up for free delivery.

The St Peter’s church Live Nativity is still seeking budding thespians (and a donkey!) to appear as characters from the nativity story on 20th December at 4.00pm. No lines to learn, lots of fun. Please see Revd Karen if you would like to take part.

Advent Reflections: Responding to God's Love… This year we will be using a “homegrown” booklet, offering reflections around some of the key themes running through the Advent Season - Promise, Hope, Call and Fulfilment. The booklets, which include an Advent Calendar of daily readings, are available from Church (at a cost of £1 each) for use at home, with an opportunity to share in times of reflection with others through four group sessions, which will be held in St Mary's Church Hall, Brading, at 6.00pm, on Wednesday evenings 26th November, 3rd December, 10th December and Friday 19th December.

St Mary’s Christmas Tree Festival - 5th-7th December
5th December – Set up trees in church & Christmas Concert, 7.00pm
6th December – Coffee Morning and Craft Fayre 10.00am - 3.00pm in the Church and the Hall
7th December – Light Up A Life for Mountbatten, 4.00pm
We are in need of donations for hampers (food and toiletries) for the raffle and mince pies for the refreshments at the concert. Please see Catherine or the church wardens if you have any donations. Many thanks.

Our Light Up A Life Services with and for Mountbatten are an opportunity to remember loved ones by lighting a candle and hanging a tag on our Christmas Trees. Saturday 6th December at St Peter’s and Sunday 7th December at St Mary’s. Do join us for either of these really moving and reflective services and let others in the community know.
