Easter 2020 in the Haven Benefice

I have heard so many people say over the years that they are nearer to God out in nature than in a church; well this year we will all be celebrating Easter outside!…. And that is perfect. I invite and encourage you all to design your own Easter rituals, to think afresh what this time of death and rebirth means for you and your family.

On Maundy Thursday maybe you could recreate the Passover meal at your own table, either with others or alone before God.

Maybe you could set aside some time alone on Good Friday for private contemplation.

On Easter Saturday you could contemplate the rich tapestry of your life by walking the Labyrinth in St Helen's churchyard.

On Easter Sunday morning why not get up and go out to see the dawn from the hillside or on the beach and at 6am know that others will be praying then too. Later in the day light a candle, lay out bread and wine and eat in remembrance.

All through this time I will be uploading service sheets and reflection ideas to The Haven Eco-Church Blog, together with films, books, prayers and images to reflect upon, If you subscribe to this blog you will receive notifications of new posts by email.

Do email me (revamorley(at)gmail(dot)com) if you have a problem accessing the blog. Let me know your own inspirations and revelations and I will post them. If you would like paper copies, do call me and I will get them to you.

Remember our faith is not dependent on places, services and times. They are just helpful reminders as part of a routine. Our faith is our whole lives, how could it be otherwise? There are deep and abiding riches to be found in the withdrawal from the world that has been forced upon us.

May God Bless you.
