An Advent Course & All Souls Service

Advent Course

We will be starting an Advent Course based on the book How Rural Churches Thrive which is available on line at £9.99. This is an easy to read and practical book that is applicable to all churches in our Haven Benefice, providing encouragement and challenging us as we prepare for our future as a Benefice. It will run each Wednesday evening in Brading Church Hall between 6pm and 7.30pm starting on Wednesday 9th November.

All Souls Service

All Soul's Services, at which we remember our departed loved ones, will be held at 4.00pm on Sunday 30th October in both St Peter’s Church, Seaview and St Mary's Church, Brading. If you would like to have the names of your loved ones read out during one of these services, please enter them on one of the lists that can be found at the back of St Helen’s Church, St Peter’s Church or St Catherine’s Chapel for the service at St Peter's, or the list at St Mary's church for the service there. Everyone is very welcome to attend.

Eco Church

Eco Church is this Sunday at 3.30pm, at St Helen's Church. We'll have prayers, and a planning session for next year. We always finish with a shared supper. All welcome.

What's On

Thank you to all who attended St Mary's Church for the concert given by Sandown and Shanklin Military Band. £190 was raised at the concert and shared between the band and church.

Brading Community Choir is making a return visit on 5th November to sing at St Mary's Saturday morning Open Cafe. We will be serving teas, coffee and, more importantly, cakes!!! We will be there from 10.30am until 1.00pm - please make a date in your diary.

St Mary’s Church, Brading: A church cleaning work party starts at 10:00 am on Saturday 19th November. Any help welcome.

Tuesday 25th October: Seaview and St Helens Mothers’ Union will meet in the Undercroft of St Peter’s church at 2.15pm (accessible from Steyne Rd). Mrs Jackie Wilson will speak on our endangered hedgehogs and how to attract them to our gardens. All are welcome.

St Peter’s Coffee mornings: If you enjoyed the friendship at our recent Harvest Lunch why not try joining us for our regular monthly coffee mornings. Enjoy tea or coffee with friends, and try your luck at the raffle and tombola, and treat yourself to home made cakes and other goodies.
Our next coffee morning is in November.

Quiz Night in St Mary’s church hall starting at 7.00pm on 4th November.

Deadline for items to be included in the Pew Sheets is 4pm on Thursday to allow for compilation, printing and distribution.
