Congratulations

Congratulations to three new worship leaders in our Benefice: Andrew Bradstock from St Helen’s and Joan Solomon and Jonathan Norton from St Mary’s: we wish you every blessing in your new ministry.

Congratulations also to Reverend Janice O’Shaughnessy on the 25th Anniversary of her Ordination . Revd Janice was a member of the St Helen’s congregation and a worship assistant when she began to explore her call to vocation in1989. Supported and encouraged by St Helen’s congregation Janice was ordained on 27th June 1998 and after retiring in 2020 has returned to our benefice.

St Peter’s Newly Fitted Out Meeting Rooms

Need somewhere to hold meetings or children’s parties? Why not use St Peter’s Undercroft which provides an attractive space for meetings. It features a modern kitchen and sunny courtyard and benefits from level access from the street.

Alternatively there is an upper meeting room that has a newly refitted kitchen with an oven and double hob. It also has a separate toilet.

Bookings and viewings are welcome, please contact Sylvia Beardsmore on 01983 612600 or just come along to the next coffee morning and see what’s on offer. .

St Peter’s Family Services

Although August may seem a long way off, it will soon be here and St Peter’s are hoping to hold two family services on 13th and 27th. In order to do so safely we need a minimum of three volunteers for each service. If you would be willing to help with this please contact Sylvia on 01983 612600 and we will arrange a planning meeting.

St Peter’s Memorial Garden

We have planted three new roses in the church memorial garden: the varieties are Alexander, Mamma Mia, and Keep Smiling. And we have space for three more: if you would like one of these roses (or a new rose) dedicated to a loved one at a cost of £30, please let Sylvia know on 01983 612600.

Supporting our local Food Banks

St Mary’s Church continues as a collection point for tinned foods, toiletries and other essentials for those in need of aid in these difficult times. Please place your donations at the back of the church.

St Peter's Church: Food bank baskets for non-perishable food are also situated at the back of the church, The Orange Tree in Madeira Road and Penforma on the corner of Bluett Avenue and Salterns all in Seaview.
