Our churches in Action

Rita, who worships with us in St Peter’s and St Helen’s, comes from a village in Liberia where there is an extreme climate - six months of rain followed by six months dry and dusty conditions. It is always extremely hot and they have no running water or sewers.
We are launching a project to help provide a standpipe, and items to be shipped out later in the year. You can help us with donations of light rainwear, umbrellas, and Bibles. For more information please see Rita or Liz Fletcher.

St Mary’s Bell Ringing Thursday 14th September

In addition to our bell ringers practice in the evening, there will be visiting bell ringers in the afternoon.

St Mary’s Quiz Night on Friday 15th September at 7.00pm

The quiz will held in the hall on Battle of Britain Day - or should that read the Battle of Brading?!

St Peter’s Coffee Morning on Saturday 16th September

St Peter’s Church holds a coffee morning in the hall from 10:00am to 12:00noon on the third Saturday of each month, except August, with stalls, a tombola and a raffle. Everyone is made very welcome.

St Mary’s Open Café on Saturday 16th September

Come to the church hall between 10:30am and 1.00pm and enjoy the café and the Brading Community Choir.

St Helen's Organ Concert Wednesday 20th September

Starting at 7.00pm St Helen’s church is the setting for an Organ Concert with distinguished US musician, Justin L Addington, playing a selection of evening hymns, classical compositions, spirituals and ‘music for a King’.
There will be refreshments and a retiring collection for the Kids’ Shed Appeal after the Organ Concert.

Anna Chaplaincy

Mothers' Union Old Logo

The Mothers' Union will be hosting the first of our Anna Chaplaincy events at 2.00pm on Tuesday 26th September when we have our Harvest Praise in the church.

Everyone is very welcome especially older people and their carers. This will be an informal and relaxed service including music, song, activities, tea and a cake walk.

St John’s Church Votive Stand

We would greatly appreciate any help in sourcing a votive stand. This could either be a spare one from an existing church or any donations towards purchasing a new one.

Next Year’s Plant Sale at St Mary’s

Lesley is already planning next year’s Plant Sale and is looking for some 2 and 3 inch flower pots to bring on cuttings. If you have any could you please bring them along to church and she will pick them up from there.

Supporting our local Food Banks - Help prepare for Winter

Now is the time to build up reserves in the Island Foodbanks

St Mary’s Church continues as a collection point for tinned foods, toiletries and other essentials for those in need of aid in these difficult times. Please place your donations at the back of the church.

St Peter's Church: Food bank baskets for non-perishable food are also situated at the back of the church, The Orange Tree in Madeira Road and Penforma on the corner of Bluett Avenue and Salterns all in Seaview.
