Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (1926 - 2022)

As a Benefice we join with the whole nation and friends across the world in expressing our sorrow at the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Amidst the pain and grief, we also lift prayers of thanksgiving for her life, service and example to our nation and to the world.

Please click here to listen to the Bells of St Mary's, Brading ringing muffled for the Queen on the evening of Thursday 8 September 2022.

A prayer on the Death of Her Majesty the Queen

Gracious God, we give thanks for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth for her faith and dedication to duty.
Bless our nation as we mourn her death and may her example continue to inspire us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

A prayer for the new King

Everlasting God, we pray for our new King.
Bless his reign and the life of our nation.
Help us work together so that truth and justice, harmony and fairness flourish among us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
God save the King.

A Book of Condolence, candles and photographs will be placed in our churches for those who wish to offer up prayers whilst reflecting upon the life and service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in quietude.

Do you have a spare seat in your car when you come to Church ?

Sometimes as many as 4 taxis come to our churches each week. Not only is this expensive but also ecologically poor practice. The journeys are all local and if you think you could help please contact Sylvia on 01983 612600.

Deadline for items to be included in the Pew Sheets is 4pm on Thursday to allow for compilation, printing and distribution.
