Credit: Press Association A special service marking the death of Her Majesty the Queen was held in Newport Minster at 6 pm on Sunday 18th September, when Islanders were invited to pay their respects to the late monarch. The service, which took place on the eve of the State Funeral, reflected upon the life and work of the Queen and included prayers for both her and the Royal Family. It was led by the Acting Archdeacon of the Isle of Wight, Rev Allie Kerr, and hosted invited local dignitaries, including the Island’s Lord Lieutenant Susie Sheldon.
