Seaview May FayreOrganised by the Nettlestone and Seaview Community Partnership, this event was, as ever, a great success. St Helen’s church ran a bottle tombola that, together with Jim’s tomato plant sales of well over £200, raised £606 towards converting the shed in the grounds of the Vicarage into a hub for children when taking part in activities in the churchyard. We hear Jim is now considering adding runner beans next year! St Peter’s Flower Festival The Jewel in the Crown, was full of artistic creations that were much appreciated by a constant flow of visitors whose donations raised just over £478 for the church. Many thanks to the flower ladies and those who supported them. And many thanks also go to those who provided refreshments from the undercroft of St Peter’s Church and in so doing raised £216 for the Mothers’ Union. Confirmation CourseThe Island will be holding a Confirmation Service this year at 4 pm on 10th September in St John’s Church, Newport (venue to be confirmed). Accordingly a confirmation course is planned to start at the end of May that candidates within your parishes are welcome to attend. The dates have been picked to avoid major school holidays.
