Today’s Benefice Eucharist

The Benefice Eucharistic service will be joined by Joan Solomon and Jonathan Norton from St Mary’s, and Andrew Bradstock from St Helen’s, all of whom who completed a diocesan training course in leading worship earlier this year and can now serve the church in many ways. Jesus often spoke in parables and today's Gospel is about how discipleship helps to grow the Kingdom. During the service Helen and Andrew Bradstock will be reflecting on the idea of ‘pilgrimage’ and the plans underway to develop pilgrimage routes on the Island - a development encouraged by the Church of England as a way of growing disciples by acts of witness.

Please note: There will be no Eco-Church at St Helen ‘s in August

Please note: There will be no Agape at St Peter ’s in August

The August issue of our parish magazine, ‘What’s On’, is now available from the back of all our Benefice churches price 60p.& If you regularly see a copy, but don’t have a subscription, why not consider taking one out? It would not only help us, but would mean you'd get your copy delivered to your door every month — for just £6 p.a. Call Paul & Mary Jackson on 01983 872326 or Andrew Bradstock on 07503 200630 to arrange this. Thank you.

St Mary’s ‘Mad Hatters’ Party

It was a warm and sunny afternoon last Sunday as St Mary’s Church held a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at the home of our churchwarden and his wife, Nigel and Aileen Elton Walters. Eighty people attended, including 13 children - everyone had fun with costumes and “designer” hats, live music from Mike on his guitar, a Wigwam full of ice creams and, of course, a fine array of delicious cakes, finger sandwiches and scones with all the trimmings. Thanks to all who helped or attended, and not least our hosts Nigel and Aileen, as £468 was raised for renovations and repairs to our church. Not so mad then!!!
